The end of our fiscal year is here and it is time to reflect back on the past year and thank all of those who help make the Dallas Chapter great.
Our Awards Banquet on June 14 will be a fun event and a great opportunity to network with other members. At this event the gavel will pass to our incoming president Kevin Wang. This last year has flown by and I have
Thank you to everyone who attended our first program of the year. JLL Research gave a great presentation on the Urbanization of the Legacy/Frisco Area. For those of you who missed it, we have several other great programs coming up.
The last month has been a busy one for our chapter as we hosted the South Central Region Conference. We kicked off with a great program and tour of Toyota Stadium and the new Soccer Hall of Fame. Then the next day we had several top-notch education sessions and a trade show. I want to thank everyone who volunteered, sponsored, and participated in this event. A portion of the proceeds from this event will come back to our chapter.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and had a chance to recharge for 2018.
Our Christmas Party was a huge success; everyone I talked with had a great time networking and playing the casino games. Many people walked away with great gifts. I want to thank everyone who helped make this event possible, including the many sponsors who contributed money and prizes to the event. Their information can be found on our website. Thanks to our sponsors, the Dallas Chapter will be making a nice donation to Ring of Hope, more on this at the Jan meeting.
April is a busy month for our chapter as we get ready to host the South Central Region Conference on April 5-6 in Frisco. I encourage everyone to attend to meet others in the region and take part in the great education programs our team has put together. A Friday only registration in only $100 and includes a full day of programs and trade show. I encourage you to come join us!
Thanksgiving has flown by us and Christmas is coming fast. The end of the year is always a busy time for CSI Dallas as we gear up for one of our biggest events of the year, the CSI Holiday Party.
Thank you to everyone who attended the February Chapter Meeting in Richardson on Emergency Communication in Buildings. I unfortunately missed it due to being sick, but heard both the presentation and venue were great. I also want to thank all the sponsors and participants who supported the CSI team at Form Follows Fitness. This has been a great event and grows every year.
Last week I attended the South Central Region Planning conference in Frisco. This yearly event is an opportunity for the new chapter leaders to come together and learn from each other. At the conference we took part in a great seminar on leadership and participated in the 11th hour of a mock bid. The first focused on being centered and calm, the other managing chaos. Then the conference concluded with the region board meeting. These conferences are always informative, but to fully benefit, you also have to stay for the evening events as well. For this conference, that included an event at Top Golf and after hours hospitality suite.
