We’re coming up on the holiday season, and just like that we’re nearly halfway through Fiscal Year 2018-2019 already. After we got back from CONSTRUCT 2018 in Long Beach California, we had our tour of the Behr Process Corporation’s Texas plant, which was a very informative experience.
Some of your Dallas Chapter Board Members attended the South Central Region Fall Conference, which included planning for the South Central Region Conference coming to Oklahoma City next year. Of course, last week we had another successful Holiday Charity Gala, at which we enjoyed an evening of revelry. It was not all for fun, though, as we were able to donate proceeds of $5,000 to Hearts & Hammers Dallas, our designated charity beneficiary.
As we spend some much-needed time away from work to relax and reflect on another year with our loved ones over the next couple of weeks, rest assured that when the year begins anew next month that CSI Dallas will be hitting the ground running. Figuratively, as we resume our regular Technical Lunches on Thursday, January 3, 2019 and our regular Chapter Meetings on January 17, 2019, but also literally, as the Form Follows Fitness 5K will be on Saturday, February 16 at Klyde Warren Park. What better way to burn off those extra holiday calories than to go on a brisk stroll with 6,000 of your closest friends in the industry?
We will also be resuming our Immersion Event program with a presentation on Fire Safety on Thursday, February 21 at Intertek Testing Laboratories. Our CDT (Construction Documents Technologist) training course will also begin in February. As I mentioned above, the South Central Region Conference will be next April in Oklahoma City. We have lots of great programs and activities planned for that, so I hope you’re all planning on attending.
As always, current information will be on our website as it is available. Please have a safe, fun, and relaxing holiday season and we will see you in 2019!
